ABOUT THE PRINTS
The original watercolour is
photographed under controlled lighting conditions using a medium
format camera loaded with colour transparency film.
The film is then scanned into the computer using a high resolution
drum scanner. The subsequent digital file is then adjusted to bring
out the same colours, brightness and contrast as the original.
Several test prints and adjustments are made during this process to
ensure the print is as close as possible to the original in every
detail.
The selected image is then printed on archival quality watercolour
paper on a wide format high resolution printer using pigment based
inks which, under normal indoor conditions, should retain their
original colours for well over 100 years.
The manufacturer of the pigment based inks claim that they have been
accelerate tested to almost 200 years without any colour loss, thus
ensuring the purchaser of an extremely high quality , long lasting
print.
The prints are “Limited Edition”, numbered, and signed by the
artist, and are available in three sizes, small, medium and large.
They can be bought as a bare print, or matted (mounted), or framed,
using a selection of quality framing materials.
As with any painting, the prints vary slightly in format, however
the small prints have an approximate size of 105mm x 160mm, the
medium 160mmx 250mm and the large 300mm x 500mm.
It is also possible to print to any other size on special order up to a
maximum of 1000mm wide. |
